With two all-time great players out with injuries, it was a wide open field Wednesday night at Tetris. A long-time veteran pursued his first championship, while several first-time rookies held their own in a crowded field of competitors. Sounds crazy? Sounds TETRIS!!!

Vinnie racked up his FIFTH Tetris League Championship with an exciting come-from-behind win over Joe Lightning, thereby putting Vinnie in the lead for Most Tetris Championships Ever. It didn't come easy: Vinnie found himself in the loser's bracket with a first round loss to Agent Wells, but then won EIGHT matches in a row to meet Joe in the Finals, where he beat him twice. Another amazing performance from America's Tetris Genius.

Joe Lightning continues to hold the dubious honor of The Best Player Never to Win in All. He had his chance on Wednesday as he cruised through the winners' bracket, but his nemesis Vinnie was too much for him in the Finals, and Joe Lighting will have to wait until next month.

After making an impressive debut last month, Mickki shook the Tetris world to its knees with an amazing sophomore performance in April. She took down Brian, Uncle J, and Agent Wells in undoubtedly the most unexpected win streak of the night. She couldn't handle Vinnie in the loser's bracket, but a strong showing nonetheless.

Not a lot is known about this rookie Ryan.... except he came in a kicked a lot of ass, and you, sitting at home while you read this website, you sir are lucky Ryan is not kicking your ass right now. Because he would.

Last month, out of a possible fear of his own success, Jabberwalky unexplainably lost in all in the final seconds of a match he would have otherwise won. And this month, he did the EXACT SAME THING. Experts assume this is all part of some diabolical points-shaving scam, and Jabberwalky is in on the cut.

Fan favorite Uncle J, after months of disappointing losses and no-shows, finally pulled it together for a strong performance in April. Wins over Kevin, Jabberwalky and Ryan propelled him to the top of the winner's bracket, where Mickki sent him packing. Can this dynamo-of-style do it again in May? Only time will tell.

Although her performance in April was pedestrian, Stacia made up for it by running away with the Best Dressed Award! A mix of class and grit, Stacia's outfit said one thing: Tetris!
